Electric Eye - Pick Up Lift Off Space Time (2013)

The debut album from this Norwegian band.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of bass, drums, keyboards, vocals and guitars.

I reviewed their 2017 album some time ago and decided on the back of that to get their first two albums too. In short, I like their 2017 album From The Poisonous Tree and you can read my review somewhere else in this blog.

The band is one of the bands in the Norwegian prog rock scene. One of the best one in the world. If not the best one at this very moment.

Their music is a mix of space rock, psych rock and krautrock. There is a lot of floating sounds here with some really cool vocals. The earliest incarnation of Pink Floyd is a huge influence on their music and sound. There is also some blues here, but not much. There is a lot more electronica, though.

There are some really good guitar solos and harmonies on this album too.

This album has both this early 1970s feel and the neo-psychedelia feel. There is even some Happy Mondays feel over the vocals.

This album is forty-five minutes long and it does not overstay it's welcome during these minutes. This is indeed a good to very good album and I get the feeling that this is a band well worth following in the future.
