Maquina Vapor - A Direção Dos Bons Ventos (2018)

The second album from this band from Brazil.

The band is a quintet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, keyboards, guitars and vocals.

I was not particular impressed by their 2010 self-titled debut album. You can read the review somewhere else in this blog.

The band has taken an eight years long break and has returned with this album.

The band still sings in their mother tongue and that adds a lot of quality to the music. The vocals is also very good too.

The music is a mix of Italian symphonic prog, symphonic prog, eclectic prog and a bit tropico.

The music is melodic in other words. The band still shows some aggression and teeth on some of the uptempo songs.

There is a lot of good vocal harmonies on this album. And the music is progressive throughout with a lot of interesting details.

This is indeed a good album and it should really appeal to everyone who likes RPI, although the band is from Brazil, and melodic progressive rock. I really like this album.
