Jefferson Airplane - Bark (1971)
The sixth album from this US band.
The band is a sextet on this album with a lineup of guitars, bass, drums, violin, bass balalaika, piano, percussion and vocals.
The band had some help from four other musicians, including Carlos Santana, who helped out with drums, guitars, harmonica and vocals.
This is their second album and one of the final albums from this band. Their decline started with this album............ I have been told.
The band is pretty songs orientated on this album. Grace Slick's vocals are everywhere on this album.
The music is still psych rock with some americana and blues influences. The music is still very much west-coast USA.
There are some lunacy left-field melodies here too. The band has not lost it's avant-garde edges on this album.
Most of this album is pretty good. The rest is decent enough.
Bark is not one of their best albums. It is still worth a listen or two.
