Elephants Of Scotland - The Perfect Map (2016)

The third album from this US band.

The band is a quartet with a lineup of guitars, bass, drums, percussion, noises, keyboards and vocals.
Three other musicians provides doumbek, violin and female vocals.

I have been following this band since their debut album a few years back. First of all because of their very funny band-name. I live in Scotland and find their name funny. But the music has taken over and I genuine like them because of their music.

Music which falls inside the neo-prog genre. US neo-prog, that is.

The band has not developed too much since their six years old very good debut album. You can read my reviews of that and their second album at this link.

The album is pretty much in the classic vein of neo-prog. It is sometimes pretty bombastic.... well, pretty bombastic as a whole. It still has some mid-tempo and more vaudeville like stuff too.

The music is still melodic and full of interesting details. It has a nice sound too and the vocals are really cool.

The Elephants Of Scotland has again delivered the goods. It is about time they get the attention they deserve.

This is an album well worth checking out.
