Hawkwind - Into The Woods (2017)

The 29th album from this British band.

The band was a sextet on this album with a lineup of drums, bass, theremin, keyboards, synths, fiddle, percussion and vocals.

Dave Brock is what remains of the classic lineup and he is running the band by now.

That is not bad at all. Thirty-one albums released to this date is very impressive.

Their albums after 1978 has been a bit hit and miss. But I am surprised how much hits they have managed on their last twenty odd albums.

Into The Woods, with almost an identical logo shared with a Norwegian band of the same name, is an album who starts at full speed down a motorway. Space rock meets punk rock and it is pretty primitive. And pretty good too.

The album takes another turn and becomes both spaced out as in space rock and........ melodic.

We then continues with some space rock before the album ends after one hour.

It is an hour with far better music than I expected. The vocals are really cool and the album has a cool space rock vibe throughout. This band was very much one of the bands who invented space rock and they are not afraid of reminding us about it on this album.

The end result is a good album and one I very much would recommend. Check out this album.
