Glareshift - Second Mirror (2015)

The one and only album from this Italian band.

The band was a trio with a lineup of flute, keyboards, synths, programming, percussion, guitars, drums, bass and vocals.

This band is one of the new progressive rock bands from Italy we cannot include in the RPI genre. There is hardly anything here which is giving pointers to the good old Italian progressive rock genre from the 1970s.

We have to go to bands like Arena, Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater to find bands we can relate too when it comes to the music on this album.

The genre is hard prog and the music is indeed hard.

There not so much progressive metal on this album as hard rock.. hard progressive rock.

The band use both male and female vocals.

The quality of the music is.... well, not particular good. The sound is not good either and both the vocalists are well below the expected standard.

This is a decent enough album but I can understand why this album has not exactly set the world on fire.
