Paatos - Silence Of Another Kind (2006)

The third album from this Swedish band.

The band is a quintet with a lineup of drums, Mellotron, organ, synths, keyboards, bass, percussion, guitars and female vocals.

This band was quite popular before they split up some years ago. They released five studio albums.

It is strangely enough my first review of their albums although I did an interview with Progarchives with them ten years ago.

Their music is based in the Scandinavian melodic symphonic prog scene. There is indeed some folk rock influences here.

The band has added some electronica in the vein of Can too and some indie pop in the vein of Portishead.

The very good vocals is pretty dominant here. There are some mellotron and a lot of guitars. Even violins.

The music is pretty indie pop orientated and mid-tempo.

The music is also good. Good but not really convincing. It is not particular prog enough and it lacking the dept and the details proper prog have got. Good but not great.
