Melancholy Circus - My Love (2016)
The second album from this US band.
I am not sure how many members this band has as their homepage has no information whatsoever. But from what I can hear, they have drums, bass, guitars and vocals as main instruments.
This band claims that their album is in the vein of Led Zeppelin, Rush and Type O Negative.
They are wrong.
What we get is a singer-songwriter album with some very minimalistic music and lots of vocals. Led Zeppelin ? Nope. More like a primitive version of Bob Dylan.
The vocals are a bit false when the vocalist tries to press his vocals to do more than basic vocals. Wisely, he never tries to do melodic vocals or in any way tries to hit the high tones.
The music is more often than not done by acoustic guitars and pretty primitive. There is no progressive rock here.
There is no decent songs here either and this album is plain and simply a turkey.
I have nothing good to say about this album, I am afraid. Avoid.
