The sixth album from this Norwegian band.
The band is a quintet with a lineup of percussion, drums, bass, organ, keyboards, guitars and vocals.
Arabs In Aspics has given us five good to great albums before they went into studio again to record Madness And Magic. I think it is fair to label them as one of the best musical exports from Norway.
They are indeed highly rated outside Norway. They also have a pretty good Norwegian following too.
The music on Madness And Magic is psych rock with a lot of symphonic prog and folk rock influences.
The songs, make that compositions or pieces of music, is pretty long. The final track Heaven In Your Eye is clocking in at seventeen minutes.
The music has got a good 1960s hippie psych rock sound. A sound I am pretty sure is their own sound. It is easy to recognize a piece of music from this band. The band has found their own niche.
This album is a good album. It not on par with their previous two albums when it comes to quality. It is still an album well worth checking out because of the sound and the fact that Arabs In Aspic always deliver the goods.
