Careworn - The Hill (2016)

The one and only album from this English band.

The band was a trio with a lineup of keyboards, piano, guitars, drums, bass and vocals.

Careworn was a student band whose announced follow up album has yet to seen the light of day. Their homepage is also down and I believe this band is no more.

As this is the first review I have seen of this album, I guess the lack of reviews and feedback from the scene did not help the band much. So this is why I always tries to give bands feedback through short reviews in this blog. At least the bands does not get the feeling they are being ignored.

Careworn gives us a forty minutes mix of indie rock, neo-prog and some folk rock influenced pop rock.

The vocals are good and the music is really melodic.

The music still got some interesting details. Mostly delivered by the acoustic, semi-acoustic and electric guitars.

The music is also slightly singer-songwriter based too.

The end result is forty minutes of decent to good music. Maybe it is not progressive rock.... but it is still an album worth checking out if you can find it.

2.5 points
