Stratus Luna - Stratus Luna (2019)

The debut album from this band from Brazil.

The band is a quartet with a lineup of guitars, steel guitars, bass, drums, sitar, keyboards, flutes and percussion.

This band exploded into the scene at the beginning of last year and was and still is very much championed by the MoonJune Records ovner Leonardo. Something I totally understand. The band is still an indie band on Bandcamp.

Their music is a mix of symphonic prog and fusion. Camel meets up with the fusion scene.

This fusion of fusion and symphonic prog is a pretty exciting sub genre of both genres and offers up some very good musicians.

Stratus Luna can be included here and it can be argued that they are among the leading lights in this genre... already.

The music is dynamic and technical. There are some good Camel like melodies here too on this almost fifty minutes long album.

This is not overly exciting this album and neither does it has some great melodies and pieces. It is nevertheless a good album and a more than welcome debut album and addition to the scene. I hope to hear more from this band in the future.
