Pleximents - The Maze Within (2021)

The debut album from this Russian band.

I am not sure how many members this band has. But the main man here is Evgen Tsibulin. The instruments is keyboards, drums, bass, guitars and vocals. The vocals is both clear and death growl male vocals.

The band is from Tomsk, a town in Siberia. The town, which is one of the oldest town in Siberia is in the middle of nowhere and is as landlocked as it is possible to come. I love the sea so Tomsk should be my ultimate nightmare.

The music is a bit of technical thrash metal blended with death metal and a lot of melodic progressive rock.

Confused ? Yes, this album is a bit all over the place. There is a lot of the Mekong Delta attitude and music here.

There is a lot of very good acoustic and electric guitars here.

The music is rather decent to good throughout these very colourful forty minutes. I guess fans of thrash metal will find this album both bewildering and good.

Check out this album, even if thrash metal is not your thing.
