Deafening Opera - Let Silence Fall (2018)

The third album from this German band.

Deafening Opera was a sextet with a lineup of keyboards, bass, drums, guitars and vocals.

I reviewed their 2013 album Blueprint last week and was not impressed by that album. You can read this review here.

The band is more or less continuing in the same path as on the Blueprint album. Heavy prog with a lot of neo-prog influences and chugging guitars.

There is no French vocals here and the Korn influences has gone. What remains is this crossover between neo-prog and heavy prog. There is a lot of Dream Theater influences here too.

The vocals are very good and I cannot fault the band on their technical abilities.

This album is seventy minutes long and that is one heck of a mouthful to digest. In particular when the music is not good. I am again very underwhelmed by the music from this band. This is a decent album but nothing more than that.
