Lucifer's Friend - I'm Just A Rock'n'Roll Singer (1973)

The third album from this German band.

The band was a quintet on this album with a lineup of guitars, Mellotron, Moog, keyboards, organ, piano, bass, drums, percussion and vocals.
The band had help from some woodwinds and percussions.

This band is a bit of a strange band in the history of hard rock and progressive rock. They are barely a progressive rock band, though..... Nevertheless, even a proghead will find their music to their satisfaction.

The band had gone a bit back to the basic hard rock here. Include some southern rock, soul and blues too and you get this album.

John Lawton's vocals are very good and the addition of some female background vocals adds some soul to this album too.

The music is actually pretty good throughout. The band knew how to write solid good songs. With the vocals on the top, listening to this band and album is quite an enjoyable experience.

The quality is somewhere between decent and good. It is an album well worth checking out if 1970s hard rock is your thing.
