Hawkwind - Church Of Hawkwind (1982)

The 12th album from this British band.

The band were a quartet with a lineup of drums, synths, guitars, bass, keyboards, samples and vocals.

The band was still around in some form or another after the punk years. Hawkwind never really fell out of fashion either. They were adapting to the sounds and music of the day.

The band has taken a large amount of samples and electronica with them on this album. This album is indeed an electronica space rock album.

The vocals are really good and the music has a lot of space rock. There is no pop songs here at all. There is no standard rock structures here at all.

The laidback space rock sometimes spills into jazz too. But not overtly so.

The music is really laidback...... and lazy. It sounds disinterested and too much based on material the band has released on previous albums.

This is a decent album, but nothing more than that.
