Supernova - Lleva el brillo del Sol (2002)
The second album from this Argentine band.
The band was a quartet with a lineup of flute, percussion, keyboards, bass, drums and female Spanish vocals.
The band got help from a guitarist on one track.
I reviewed their 1998 debut album some days ago and was not that impressed by that album. You can read my review here.
These two albums is the only sign of life from this band and I believe the band is now history. This album was also self-released.
The band continues on from the debut album. A mix of symphonic prog and neo-classical music. The band and this album can be compared to the Japanese band Ars Nova and their albums. Very neo-classical music, in other words.
This one hour long album has some good vocals from Maria Macaya. The music is not particular good. It has it's moments, but there is not many of them. The music is rather dull and it does not exactly sparkle and creates fireworks.
Nevertheless, this is a decent to good album. Symphonic prog fans should check out this album.
