Lunaire - Dreams And Inbetweens (2014)

The debut album from this Australian band.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, keyboards, guitars, bass and vocals.

I thought this band was a French symph prog band when I got this album. But I could not be more wrong....

We are in Australia here. The band has released some singles and EPs through Bandcamp. This is their only album though and I believe the band is no longer among us.

The music is post-rock. Something I did not expect with their name.

Post-rock with a lot of dream pop and shoegaze, to be more precise.

The vocals are really good and their use of a half-acoustic guitar is really adding value to this album. An album who is sparsely instrumented. A pulsating bass, vocals, drums and guitars is what we get here.

The quality is rather OK. This forty minutes long album is sorely lacking some good songs as the material is unfortunate a bit unremarkable and dull. This album should have had something.... but it does not.

This is a decent enough album but nothing more than that.
