Fleesh - Across The Sea (2018)

The third album from this Brazilian duo.

The band is a duo with a lineup of guitars, bass, drums, synths and vocals.

The band is heavy involved in the tribute scene and has done tribute albums to both Marillion and  Renaissance.

I reviewed their 2017 album What I Found a week ago and really liked that album.

Sometimes, melodic prog rock with female vocals are really great. Others acts falls flat on their face, though.

There is a lot of pitfalls in this genre. One of them is to sound too commercial and poppy. Being a duo, Fleesh is not the most technical band around. This is not Yes with female vocals.

The music is at times too pedestrian. The vocals is great though and overshadows the less than good instrumental works here.

This is an album to feel happy about as it is not too taxing on the brain cells. It is still enough interesting details and good songs to make this a good album, indeed.

Brazil has again got a good band. Fleesh is the name.
