Persephone's Dream - Anomalous Propagation (2019)

The sixth album from this US band.

The band is a sextet on this album with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, synths, keyboards, guitars and vocals.

The band waited nine years to follow up their great Pan An Urban Pastoral album from 2010. They had in the meantime almost left my radar.... but only almost as the Pan album was such a great album.

The band has some of the same members too.... but with a large difference.

The male vocals has been replaced by female vocals. And the vocals are not that good either.

The music is also a mix of neo-prog and rock too. Pretty standard stuff.

The album is seventy-five minutes long and it is not a particular well spent seventy-five minutes. Not from the band and not from the listener.

The music here is so generic and so bereft of quality music that it almost feels bad. Even the opera vocals feels standard and the musicians does not add much of value or originality either.

This album is sorely missing good songs and that is it's downfall. It is a decent enough album but just that.

  1. Disagree entirely! Love this album!! Vocals are awesome!! Music is fantastic!! Their style is so different from the norm. Very original. Reminds me of their earlier albums. I love it!
