Alux Nahual - Conquista (1982)
The second album from this band from Guatemala.
The band is a seven piece big band with a lineup of chirimia, violincello, violin, keyboards, saxophone, flute, drums, percussion, bass, guitars and vocals.
I very much liked their debut album and was looking forward to listen to this album too. Sadly, those two albums is the only Alux Nahual albums I got.
Something tells me I need more albums from this band, the greatest Middle-American band of all time.
Again, we are being treated to a lot of folk rock on this album. That and some progressive rock too.
The music is melodic and that is due to the pretty substantial amount of symphonic prog and RPI here. Yes is a good reference. But even some Led Zeppelin influences are notable here.
The vocals is really good. It is in Spanish and it creates a good vibe. The rest of the band also does a good job.
The music sounds a bit exotic too and has a good vibe.
The songs are really good too. This album has a good RPI feel, Rock Progressive Italiano sound and fans of RPI should really check out this album.
I think I need to get some more albums from this band....
