Froberg & Musical Companion. Hasse - Parallel Life (2019)

The fourth album from this Swedish band.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, grand piano, keyboards and vocals.

I am by no means a fan of super-groups and one off projects. So I ignored their first two albums.
Evidently, I have been wrong about this band from the very first beginning. This is a band and this is far from being a run of the mill project too.
That was very much proved by their third album HFMC from 2015 and you can find my review here.

Hasse Froberg and his band mates has something to say about who is the best Swedish symphonic prog band this year..... or during the last years.

This album is a fully blooded Swedish symphonic prog album in the vein of The Flower Kings. A band who has recently also released a new album. Me ? I am not complaining.....

The music on this album is epic, symphonic and wrapped up in a warm sound where the guitars and the vocals really burns brightly. Ditto for the keyboards.

This album is at times a real smorgasboard where my only gripe is the lack of a true great songs.

Nevertheless, this is a very good album and one who keeps the cold weather away.

3.5 points
