Quidam - Saiko (2012)

The sixth album from this band from Poland.

The band was a sextet with a lineup of dobro, guitars, bass, mandolin, flute, saxophone, drums, keyboards and vocals.
They are helped by some harmonica, bass and female vocals.

This is their eight or sixth album. Sixth if you only count albums with original material. Eight if you regard their two English language albums as their own entities.

Saiko is a Polish language album. I find Polish a good language and it is really pleasant listening to Polish vocals.

The vocalist Bartek Kossowicz is also a great vocalist and the major asset to this album.

The music is a blend of neo-prog and local art-rock. There is also some folk rock here and some more electronic stuff.

This fifty minutes worth of music is unfortunate pretty poor in quality. There is not a single good song here and the vocalist is struggling with some very sub-standard songs.

It is a pity as Quidam was once a very good band. This album is probably the sorry end of something that once was great.
