Sentiero Di Taus. Il - Macrocosmosi (2018)

The second album from this Italian band.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, flute, keyboards, bass, guitars and vocals.

I was not a fan of their debut album La Granda Perla from 2013... It was barely a decent album. See my review here.

Some of the restless energy and anxiety from that album is still kept on Macrocosmosi. The music is very contemporary. Ditto for the sound.

But there is also a lot of RPI like music here too and the band seems to embrace a lot of the old RPI traditions. The good old band Biglietto Per L'Inferno is a good reference in that respect.

There is also a lot of Italian folk music references here too.

The music is pretty hard and distorted. But there are also a lot of contrasts here between harshness and tenderness.

The music is really interesting and has a lot of very interesting details. It is an album which places the band among the better new RPI bands in Italy now and it should give them a pretty large audience. Count me among them.
