Grannie ‎- Grannie (1971)

The one and only album from this British band.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, flute and vocals.

The band was based in London and gigged the clubs in London from 1968 to 1973 without much success. They released this album and broke up after someone stole all their equipment in 1973.

I was expecting a hard blues band. I was mistaken.

Wishbone Ash is a good reference here. The music is a mix of rock, blues, hard rock and soft rock.

Rock in other words.

The guitars and the flute plays an important role here. Ditto for the vocals.

The sound and music has a garage feel as it is pretty loose. The sound is good though and not a problem at all.

The songs are decent enough and this makes this album a pretty interesting half an hour of listening... and then you want to give it another go.

This is an album well worth checking out.
