Ancestry Program. The - Tomorrow (2019)
The debut album from this German band.
The band is a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, keyboards, guitars and vocals.
Another band and another debut album this year. And in the neo-prog genre too.
Not that I mind at all. On the contrary, I am really pleased about this development and the many new bands and albums. It shows that the scene is very healthy, indeed.
The Ancestry Program is delivering us a forty-two minutes long album. And it is an album who broadly speaking falls into the neo-prog genre.
Very broadly speaking, that is.
Take some neo-prog and add lots of Opeth to the proceedings.
The vocals is both screamo, death-growls and clean. The music is at times djent. It is also pretty melodic too and gives us some pretty acceptable standard neo-prog.
There is a lot going on during these forty minutes.
Not everything is good. Most of the stuff is not good, I am afraid. But there is some good stuff here. Most of this album is decent and a good platform for the band to expand on. I hope they do.
