Bottega Del Tempo A Vapore. La - Viaggi InVersi (2018)

The second album from this Italian band.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of keyboards, guitars, bass, drums and Italian vocals.
A guest musician provided libretto.

Their debut album Il Guerriero Errante from 2016 was a fairly good album. That album included saxophones in a mix of progressiv metal and neo-prog.

The saxophones has been ditched this time around.

What is left of their sound a shift slightly towards neo-prog without totally ditching progressive metal.

They sound like a Dream Theater copycat at times. When they are not covering that ground, they are more in the RPI and neo-prog landscape.

The music is indeed muscular. It is also melodic and the band has found something good here.

Their blend of RPI and neo-prog is the best thing about this album. It is indeed a nice sound.

The album is good throughout this one hour long album. It is an album who offers a lot of promises for their next albums. I hope they will continues down the same road and write some great pieces of music too.
