Minami Deutsch - Minami Deutsch (2015)
The debut album from this Japanese band.
The band was a quartet with a lineup of guitars, synths, bass, drums and some vocals.
I know next to nothing about this band beside of this band having just released their second album. This album is up for review sometimes soon/you will find my review of their new album somewhere else in this blog.
This band is one of many new non-German band who has discovered krautrock and has found out that this is their type of music too.
The band offers up some minimalistic krautrock here not so far away from what Electric Orange is doing.
That means repetition of rhythm figures with some synths and guitars on the top of those again. And there is some vocals who works as instruments and does not really express any lyrics.
The guitars are distorted and pretty dirty. The sound is pretty good on the 2/3 of this album. Some pretty grotty demo recording has been included and attached to this studio recording. That takes this album up to almost an hour.
The studio recordings are decent to good. The demo is pretty poor. The end result is a decent album which shows some promise. I am not entirely won over, though.
