Dr. Dopo Jam - Entree (1973)

The debut album from this Danish band.

The band was an eleven piece big band with a lineup of saxophones, guitars, bass, drums, piano, vibraphone, percussion, flute, trombone, trumpet and vocals.

There may be a lot fewer than eleven members of this band... but that is what I have found out.

The band released three albums before they gave up the ghost and disbanded. I will review all three albums this year.

The band was a bit of an oddity in the Danish scene and I have not heard about the band before I found them in Progarchives.

The music may explain the reasons for this...... Take a bit chunk of Frank Zappa and add the weird Canterbury pop sound of Supersister. Indeed, this album is a Canterbury prog album with it's mix of psych, jazz, avant-garde and pop music.

The musicians is doing a good job on this forty-five minutes long album. The vocals are good too.

Weird.... and pretty much wonderful too. The music is quirky like mad. It has some wild ideas and the music kicks in all directions.

It is also a good album as there is a lot of methods and quality in this madness. It is an album well worth checking out.
