Red Bazar - Tales From The Bookcase (2016)

The third album from this British band.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars and vocals.
The band had some help from a keyboardist.

Their first two albums were instrumental albums and they did not do much for the band. I had their last instrumental album and that album is at best a mediocre album. See my review.

The vocals adds a lot of quality and makes this seventy minutes long album quite a more enjoyable album.

The music is pure and simple neo-prog.

The music is also very symphonic with long songs and some symphonic melody structures.

The music is still melodic with some good melodic vocals and muscular music which is bordering to progressive metal at times. There is also some tender melancholy in the songs.

There is no real outstanding tracks here and that is a shame. Nevertheless, this is a very good album and massive improvement from their second album.

3.5 points
