Eiemel - Eiemel (2019)
The debut album from this one-man band from Argentina.
Eiemel is mr. Ariel Martin Loza from the Argentine symphonic prog band Laquesis on guitars, bass, percussion, programming, keyboards and vocals.
He had help from numerous other musicians on guitars, bass, drums, flute, trombone, bagpipes, trumpet and bandoneon.
I got this album in the belief it would be symphonic prog.
... which it is....... sort off.
Argentina is also the home of soft symphonic prog. Soft melodic symphonic prog with pop and folk rock influences.
Bands from the 1970s gave us that. Eiemel is in that tradition and so is this seventy-two minutes long album.
The music is soft, melodic and poppy. The vocals are very good and he would and can go far as a vocalist.
The music is party decent and partly good. It is a bit of a bland album who gives a lot of value for money. You really have to like Argentine symphonic prog to really fall for this album. I have my reservations but still welcome this album and this band to our world.
