Latte E Miele - Paganini Experience (2019)
The eight album from this Italian band.
The band is a quartet with a lineup of violin, piano, organ, guitars, bass, drums, keyboards and vocals.
The band calls themselves Latte E Miele 2.0 after various changes of members. There is hardly a single original member left of the band who album debuted in 1972.
The music therefore comes as a bit of a surprise. That two accounts. First of all; there is not much of that mad violin player Niccolo Paganini here as I feared. His music was fast and the speed metal back in those days, two hundred years ago.
There is not much of that here and that comes as a relief.
The second surprise, and this too is a positive surprise, is the music.
The band has gone back to the roots of Latte E Miele and delivered us a good old RPI album. Good old but with a modern sound.
There is a lot of ELP here and there is a lot of the good old Latte E Miele here from the Papillion album. There is also a lot of classical music here intertwined with some good old Italian pop from those days.
This is short brings tears to the eyes of us RPI fans. Tears of joy.
Not everything here is fantastic and there is no great piece of music here. Nevertheless, this is a very good album who I will enjoy a lot in the coming years.
