Pohjola. Pekka - Space Waltz (1985)

The eight album from this Finnish artist.

Pekka Pohjola did the bass and keyboards here.

He got help from ten guest musicians who contributed with drums, guitars, keyboards and vocals.

His career has so far had some great albums and some not so good albums. He has done movie soundtracks and more jazzy albums.

This time, he visits a more jazzy area. There are still some rock here and the genre is therefore fusion.

There are some hints of Focus and Return To Forever here. There are also a lot of TV friendly light music here.

The outstanding instrument here is guitars and we get a lot of guitar solos here. Those are saving this album from being just too light-weight. They adds a lot of substance to the album.

The synths are also good.

The music is bordering to muzak throughout this album. But they are saved by the guitars.

This is a good album though and Pekka knows what he is doing. That is to record and  release good albums. Like this one.
