Falena - Una Seconda Strana Sensazione (2019)

The third album from this Italian band.

The band is a quintet with a lineup of synths, flute, bass, guitars, drums, percussion, keyboards and vocals.

I very much liked their second album after missing out on their debut album. Good, solid RPI. See my review here.

I was therefore looking forward to the follow up.

There are still a lot of Banco in their music. There is not so much Genesis, though.

The band has moved more towards King Crimson and some pretty eclectic RPI. There are even some hints of Area and a lot of Picchio Dal Pozzo here.

The album is also long this time around. Over one hour long.

The vocals are really good and adds a lot of power to this music. The music is pretty muscular and has a lot of good details.

Falena has again given us a very good album and one to enjoy this winter. They are really a band to be taken seriously and one of the better ones in the RPI scene.

3.5 points
