The tenth album from this band from USA.
The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, keyboards, guitars and vocals.
They had support from some woodwinds players, keyboardist and a strings quartet.
The band had by now been pretty settled in their sound. A sound that in a large degree has defined the new US symphonic prog genre.
US symphonic prog is what we get here. The music is bold and big. Ditto for the sound.
The music is sometimes hard and sometimes dissonant.
It is epic though with some long songs. Symphonic too.
Spock's Beard delivers most of the same as they have always done on this album. It is one of many very good albums from this band.
It is always nice to listen to this band. At eighty minutes, this album has a surprisingly amount of misses too and music which is not up to their usual standard.
This is still a good album, but still one of my less favourite albums from this band.
