Jadis - Understand (2000)

The fifth album from this British band.

The band was a quartet on this album with a lineup of percussion, bass, drums, keyboards, guitars and vocals.

Their previous album, the 1997 album Somersault, did not really impress me. Not good enough songs and a bit lackluster delivery of these songs.

The band returns again three years later with Understand.

Again, we get neo-prog. An album full of neo-prog.

The songs are not overly long and symphonic. Neither are they particular pop orientated. There are some pretty strong new-romanticism references in their songs.

Most of this three quarters of an hour long album is solid English neo-prog.

The music is a slight improvement on Somersault. It is still not an album that makes me very convinced about the qualities of this band.

Nevertheless, this is a good album and well worth checking out.
