Pavlov's Dog - Prodigal Dreamer (2018)

The eight album from this US band.

The band is a seven piece big band with a lineup of violin, grand piano, Hammond organ, synths, bass, drums, guitars and vocals.
The band had help from some female vocals and a trumpet.

Pavlov's Dog is one of those classic bands from USA in the prog genre. OK, there is not many of them. But Pavlov's Dog is one of them. So when they release a new album, 43 years after the semi-classical debut album Pampered Menial, I and the rest of the scene takes notice.

David Surkamp's vocals still with us and they are very good. There is also a lot of violins and piano here. Some distorted guitars and organs adds a lot of value to the eclectic songs here.

The music is a mix of US folk rock and eclectic prog. And from what I remember, so was the music on Pampered Menial, 43 years ago.

Nothing new in other words. But there is a lot for the fans of this band to enjoy. This album is not letting them down. It is actually a good present to them. Or us if you wish....

This one hour long album offers up only good songs. Each of them are as good as the others. And it is indeed a very nice album which brings the heat back into my frozen body and soul.

Pavlov's Dog is still alive and well. That is good news, indeed.
