Riis. Bjørn - Lullabies In A Car Crash (2014)

The debut album from this Norwegian artist.

Bjorn Riis does the guitars, bass, keyboards, percussion and vocals on this album.
He has got help from guest musicians who provided drums, keyboards, fx and loops.

Bjorn Riis is the songwriter and guitarist in the very good Norwegian band Airbag. A band I rate very highly. He has so far released two albums on his own. Both are to be reviewed this month/you can find my review of his new album somewhere else in this blog.

Airbag is not a bad reference for what Bjorn Riis dishes up on his own. They and Gazpacho. Another band I rate very highly.......

The music is pretty laidback in that mould and that ambient prog rock genre. There is a lot of guitar solos here though and that really get a guitar solo fan going. Yes, that is me. The vocals is also really good.

There is a lot of pastoral, melancholic themes on this album. Something that should not come as a surprise with that album title.

The songs on this fifty minutes long album are all good. There is no great songs here and that is my only gripe. It is still an album well worth checking out.
