It Bites - The Tall Ships (2008)
The fourth album from this British band.
It Bites is a trio with a lineup of guitars, bass, drums, keyboards and vocals.
This band was one of those band who did not really become as big as Marillion and Pendragon.
Yes, we are talking neo-prog here. Their debut album was released back in 1986 and their so far final album was released back in 2012. I actually reviewed that album and you can find this review here.
It Bites gives us seventy-five minutes of middle of the road neo-prog. The music is not that symphonic. Neither is it poppy and very commercial..... with the exception of one song who is pretty dire. The name of the song are Great Disasters and it is a teenybopper song complete with kindergarten type of chorus.
This album is songs based and melodic. It still has some bites. It also got some class and some very good vocals.
There is no great songs here and Great Disasters is a crime I find hard to forgive them for.
Nevertheless, this is a good album well worth checking out.
