Napoli Centrale - Qualcosa Ca Nu Mmore (1977)

The third album from this Italian band.

Napoli Centrale was a trio on this album with a lineup of saxophone, bass, drums, keyboards and Italian vocals.

Napoli Centrale is a band I have often heard about but really not had the time to explore before last month. A bit of a revelation is what I found when listening to their first two albums. Albums I quite like. Check out my reviews of them here and here.

This album starts with a pretty big hommage to Area, a band I would compare Napoli Centrale with. There are some mad vocals and strange melody lines here.

The album then moves on from this song to a much more dynamic jazz direction with lots of saxophone and piano sounding keyboards. There is some great interplays between these two instruments. The drums and bass are in the more funky vein.

There are some really good saxophones here for the rest of the forty minutes long album. This album has an unhinged madness feel over it. Which reminds me of....... Area !

Qualcosa Ca Nu Mmore is a much more avant-garde and leftfield album than their first two albums. It is still a reasonable good album. A weak good point-score is awarded under some doubts. Check out this album.
