Jane - Jane (1980)

The ninth album from this German band.

Jane was a quartet with a lineup of guitars, bass, drums, keyboards, strings and vocals. A guest provided saxophone on one track.

I have reviewed their first eight albums in this blog and that has been a mixed pleasure. From the very good to the half-decent standard. From interesting to dull. You will find my reveiews somewhere else in this blog.

After a pretty dull hard rock album, Jane returns with a much more space rock influenced album. This is indeed a fully blooded krautrock album.

The album is pretty hard and dominated by rock'n'roll. There is also some punkish sounding songs here and a song which is a detour into the reggae genre. There is some mad vocals and guitars here.

The music is all over the place with reggae, punk, synths music, rock'n'roll and weird vaudeville music.

The end result is a fifty minutes long decent krautrock album with no real good songs and no real good merits. I am not convinced that this is Jane as it's best.
