D Project. The - The Sagarmatha Dilemma (2008)
The second album from this Canadian band.
The band was a seven piece big band on this album. The lineup was guitars, bass, drums, cello, violin, Chapman stick, keyboards and English vocals.
The band also had help from Brett Kull, Derek Sherinian, John Green and Stu Nicholsen.
The mainman behind The D Project is Stephane Desbiens and he had got a full band this time. This after the 2006 debut album Shimmering Lights being a project with hired musicians. You can find my review here.
The band has not moved one from their debut album either. The music here is a mix of art-rock, neo-prog and some prog-metal.
This album is fifty minutes long and it contains some decent to good prog rock. There is no real great song here. There is a lot of good stuff here. But this album is in a desperate need of several good tracks.
Their sound is good. The songs are not. Hence my verdict.
