Aunt Mary - Loaded (1972)
The second album from this Norwegian band.
Aunt Mary was a quartet on this album with a lineup of guitars, bass, drums, keyboards and English vocals.
Aunt Mary has released four albums between 1970 and 2016. There may be one or two more albums from them too. Nobody knows as the band has been touring and has got a good fanbase.
I reviewed their 1970 self-titled debut album last month and regard that as a decent album.
Loaded sees the band branching out in all directions. Two ELP like tracks. A lot of blues and soul. A lot of late 1960s beat and rock.
The vocals is very good and the band does a good job. But there is something seriously unhinged and fragmented about this album. It is an album of several different, widely different ideas and styles.
This album is thirty-six minutes long and it is not exactly good thirty-six minutes. Not after repeated listening.
This is another decent album from this band. I am not impressed.
