Electric Orange - Krautrock From Hell (2010)
The ninth album from this German band.
Electric Orange was a quintet on this album with a lineup of guitars, tapes, mellotron, drums, bass, synths, piano, organs, percussion, flutes and vocals.
I know this band pretty well by now after doing some reviews of their albums during the last years. Some of them can be found somewhere else in this blog and in #1 of this blog.
Electric Orange is one of those bands in the new wave of krautrock. A band who has occupied the space rock end of that spectrum.
I thought this would be a sonic, dark adventures throughout these eighty minutes. I was proven wrong.
Yes, this is space rock. But the stuff here is actually pretty melodic and there is even a proper song here. And there are even some mellotron here.
There are a lot of really clever, intelligent smart melodies and themes here. So much that this is an album that has really grown on me. It is just short of being a great album. But I am settling for a very good album. Check it out.

A great album full of great tracks...best of the bunch is the epic Neuronomicon which will transport the properly conditioned listener into deepest, darkest space!
