Florian Geyer - Beggar's Pride (1976)

The one and only album from this German band.

Florian Geyer was a trio with a lineup of guitars, bass, drums and English vocals.

This album was originally released on LP back in 1976 as a thirty-five minutes and six songs long album. That LP is out of print and as rare as a pink penguin in the middle of Berlin.
So what people get is the Garden Of Delights CD which includes eight bonus tracks. That CD is seventy-four minutes long.
My review though is of the original 1976 album. The bonus material does not add any quality to this album whatsoever.

The music on this album is a mix of hard rock, glam rock and psychedelic rock. In short; krautrock. Mostly because this band is from Germany.

The guitars and the vocals drives this album forwards. The songs are a bit on the naive side with some simple melody lines. And frankly, the sound is pretty bad on the original album and even worse on the bonus tracks which is not reviewed here.

There is a very good reason why this band and this album is very obscure: This album is pretty awful throughout. Some decent songs and details saves it from being a turkey. But it is close and I am very happy to put this album in the very back of my record collection.
