Itoiz - Ambulance (1987)

The sixth album from this Spanish band.

Itoiz was a quartet with a lineup of guitars, bass, drums and Basque vocals.
They had help from two other musicians who provided piano, keyboards and female vocals.

Itoiz is a band from the Basque province of Spain. Their vocals were in their native Basque language and their popularity were probably confined to the Basque areas in both Spain and France.

The band's debut album was OK. Their second and third album is very good. Their fourth and fifth albums contains very forgetable pop and rock music. You can read my reviews in this blog and in # 1 of this blog.

I had a bit of a soft spot for this band after their first three albums. But it was severe tested on their following two albums. So I was not looking forward to this album.

The band had again moved with the times and acquired a more updated 1980s sound. That and a bit of that type of stadium rock too. There is subtle hints of Rush from that area. But most of all, there is a lot of INXS, Simple Mind and U2 here.

The music is a bit edgy late 1980s. It feels a bit dead anno 2017.... ehh, 2018.

The music on this immoral short album, twenty-six minutes, is a small improvement on their previous two albums. But it is still not even a decent album. This album is very much an album to avoid at all costs.
