Tetragon - Stretch (2009)

The second and final album from this German band.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of keyboards, drums, guitars and bass.

The album was recorded back in 1971, but only rescued and released by the superb retro-rock label Garden Of Delight back in 2009. Hence the pretty bad cover art-work. Hideous is the word.....

The band very much follows the path they trod back on their debut album Nature. See my review of that album here.

The music is a bit of a mix of fusion and symphonic prog. Add some kraut rock too and you get the drift.

The music is very dynamic and pretty hard. This album is not for the ones who loves soft fusion/symphonic prog.

The music also feels a bit like a long jam. But it is not as the music is well crafted and composed.

There are some long guitar solos here and they are very much suitable for long air guitar runs. If you are so inclined.....

There is a lot of very clever details and melodies on this album. A really good album which cements this band's status as one of the lost greats. Unfortunate for us, they only released two albums and that is that.... Enjoy.
