IQ - Are You Sitting Comfortably ? (1989)

The fourth album from this British band.

The band was a quartet on this album with a lineup of keyboards, sax, flute, tambourine, synth guitar, guitars, percussion, drums, bass and vocals.
A female vocalist offers up some backing vocals too.

The band was floating around in the doldrums on their previous album. I am not sure what they wanted to be. A proggy pop band, a bit of a Pink Floyd band or a pop band.

The band is very much still floating around in the doldrums on this album too.

There is a lot of pop music and pop-rock here. The cover art-work tells most of the story here, I am afraid.

The music is light and fluffy. There is not much substance in the music on this forty plus minutes long album.

The musicians does their best and the vocals are really good. That alone cannot save this album which is bereft of any really good songs too.

This is a decent album but only that, I am afraid.
