Orion Dust - Legacy (2018)

The second album from this French band.

The band was a sextet with a lineup of keyboards, bass, guitars, drums and vocals.

I was not overwhelmingly impressed by their 2016 debut album Duality. Not enough quality songs.

The band has moved a bit on from that album. Moved in both directions, in fact.

They have become a lot heavier with some death metal/djent stuff here too. They have also moved towards more ballads here.

In short, this fifty minutes long album is pretty wide in it's expression and scope.

The vocals are really good and so is the sound. The hardest stuff here, the death metal growls and riffs, actually works too. On the top of that, the other stuff also works out fine.

This is by no means a great album. The band has ironed out the flaws from their debut album and has delivered a good album. It is not a sensational great album. It is though a good album which will please most prog heads.
