Brand X - Do They Hurt? (1980)

The fifth album from this British band.

The band was a quartet on this album with a lineup of bass, guitars, drums, keyboards, piano and vocals.
Four other musicians provided drums, bass and percussion. Phil Collins was one of them.

This album is supposed to be left overs from the Product album session. In that case, that must have been a very fruitful recording session.

We are here being treated to forty minutes of fusion here. Lively fusion. There are some vocals here too. All of it very jazzy.

The music is very jazzy and probably more jazz than rock.

There is a highly satisfactory amount of intricate details here from the bassist, guitarists and the drummers. The keyboards is very good too.

The melodies are really good. Of the two albums, Product and this one, from the same recording session, this one is far better than Product. Left overs ? Nope. Not in my view. This is the album well worth having in your record collection.
