The debut album from this US band.
The band is a quartet with a lineup of drums, slide guitars, guitars, bass, keyboards and vocals.
This is another band with their debut album released in the last couple of years. The two last years has seen a flurry of debut albums in the progressive rock genre. A small genre, but still a very healthy genre.
That makes running this blog so fun and so interesting.
Nous is giving Rush a nod with the title of the album. Entre Nous is one of Rush best loved songs and one of my favourite songs.
And yes, there are some Rush influences here. The music on this album is pretty hard at times and the Rush influences shines through. So does other bands in the hard and heavy prog genre. The music is not progressive metal, but it still rocks.
There are also some Genesis and Yes influences here. In particular Yes influences. And there are some hard rock influences. Bad Company springs to mind.
The vocals are good and the use of slide guitars gives the band an edge and an identity. There are a some good harmonies here too.
This album clocks in at fifty-two minutes and the quality is somewhere between decent and good. The songs are simply not good enough here. Some better songs and this band will go places.
